………….Flower – this time, an Iris.

I dedicate this beautiful flower to Aliscotia, to celebrate our first ever Blip meet.

The lovely Aliscotia and her husband are visiting Australia and New Zealand and for a few days they are here in sunny Nelson.

We had a lovely time chatting over coffee and friands and all too soon it was time to say farewell. Thank you to you both for travelling to the other side of the world so we could meet!!

The "Friand" is a small, moist cake made with almond meal and egg whites. It is of French origin and may be related to the Parisian "financier" cake. Through the years the Friand has become a popular treat in the Australian and New Zealand cafe scene.
