The Burning Field

This area has caught on fire at least a half dozen times in the 10 years I've lived out here by careless people or by the Forestry Service. Trees and vegetation are growing back slowly. I was on my way to an appointment this morning and decided to stop. They have made this state land and an Osprey habitat. I've never walked through it because there are so many palmettos I'd be afraid of too many rattle snakes around. It does have an appealing look to it though.

I did manage to catch this little Tuffted Titmouse looking for some sunflower seeds so after I snapped his picture, I filled up the birdfeeder.
