Stack of Mushroom

A largely quiet day getting household jobs done. I (Chris) did however start the day doing the Aylesbury Parkrun, a new event for the town that is free to take part in and gives the opportunity to run a timed 5km every Saturday morning over the same course. It's an event that has grown from a single event in Bushey Park in 2004 to a worldwide programme of runs, great that it has finally made it to Aylesbury. I ran a personal best 5km time too.

This is my first ever attempt at a focus stack, 12 images each with a small depth of field but with a different focus point on the mushroom in each shot. The results were then blended together in Photoshop using a script that puts each image on a layer and then uses layer masks to ensure the end image is made up of elements from each shot that were in focus. Seemed to work quite well.

Today is our Yogi's 10th birthday. He's had a proper lazy day but that seems entirely fair given this major milestone.
