Wet, wet, wet

As the Germans say: "Bei diesem Wetter jagt man keinen Hund vor die Tür" literally "with this weather you don't chase a dog out the door". Rain, drizzle, cool, horrible. Angie managed a ride, Flash wearing his raincoat. Luna's raincoat is a little large and she anyway tends to shake often and dries much more quickly.

In the afternoon our longstanding and previously Bliped friends, Christa & Michi with their dog Norma Penny to visit for coffee and Angie's "crumb cake" which I won't try to describe but it was tasty - a recipe from Maria, another longstanding but much younger friend. Normally a walk would have been on the cards as Luna & Penny get on very well together, Flash letting the young one's shoot around. They did go out in the garden for a bit but then the weather beat them back indoors. The photo is the best I could do in the appalling light.

Yesterday, Christa had insisted we did not make an evening meal as they couldn't leave Christa's Mum alone at home too long and for once we didn't have anything prepared. Naturally they did stay longer and we could easily have consumed a 5 course dinner, but they only had themselves to blame if they had empty stomachs on their journey home.

Before they left we loaded a whole estate car full with sacks of sugar beet pulp and grass pellets, leaving just enough space for Penny. Hope the suspension held. As always it was great to see them and have a chat. The dogs enjoyed the short play. Hopefully next time we might have better weather.

Trust all are having a better weekend, weatherwise at least, than we are. I know you are having a better Saturday TV evening than we are. The same 20 year old format shows with the same old guests Cliff Richard, Roger Whitaker, Hansi Hinterseer, yes that Hansi. Forced me to put a recording of Woodstock in the CD - Angie survived to Crosby, Stills & Nash but quickly disappeared to bed as Jimi laid loose on Star Spangled Banner. Well she was only 4 when it happened.... It rained in Bethel that weekend so I guess good weather is not a must for a good time.

This Saturday, 364 days ago was a special night & neither Angie, Flash or I needed TV but more of that on day 365.....
