The Edge of the Wold

Helmhound

Here's Rowan close to the highest point on the Helm. Arnside Knott is the distant hill to the right of the hound. It's becoming a weekly practice to take Gus, Rowan and Lily for a walk together over the hill of the Helm at lunchtime. The routine is the same, Rowan chases a frisbee, stick or stone while Gus runs in big circles around him vainly trying to round him up. The inexhaustible Lily sprints round them both.

The light today was extraordinary. Looking over to the Kent estuary and the Bay, there were mists hanging low over the landscape, illuminated by searchlights through holes in the cloud.

Alas, there was far too much to do in work, and eventually we had to take the dogs back. Gus is very tired now after his exertions.

I may be comment light tonight, I have a very early start tomorrow, so will need an early night. Thank you for the kind comments these last two days, I will catch up soon.
