Carnaby Christmas

Last night very late when most sensible people had been long abed, we crossed the border into England and then onward to London Town cocooned in the Caledonian Sleeper.

Arriving in London at 6:45 am is not for the faint hearted, but thanks to our First Class tickets, we managed to spend time in the Lounge at Euston, reading the papers until London became fully awake.

With no particular plan of campaign, we wandered at will along Oxford Street, Covent Garden and the South Bank.
It is over 10 years since we were here, and we were shocked at the amount of traffic, junctions and side streets completely grid locked with nothing moving except pedestrians and cyclists.

We have tickets tonight for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at the Theatre Royal before getting back to Euston and the Caledonian Sleeper for the return journey to the relative haven of the much more peaceful Edinburgh.
