Harlequin

I was cutting back the buddleia at the house today in an attempt to make the garden a bit more presentable, when I unexpectedly came across this harlequin ladybird, which had been hiding on the underside of one of the leaves. Unfortunately, I couldn't seem to get a decent shot of it that wasn't all blurry; this is the best one.

Harlequin ladybirds are not native to this country, and are starting to take over ladybird-world, in much the same way, I suppose, as grey squirrels took over much of squirrel-world from the red squirrels.
