Remembering Clutha Vaults

A Book of Remembrance has been set up in Parliament after Friday night's tragedy. It seems little enough given the awful outcome for so many famillies.

Yesterday morning, very early, I was visiting the fire station in Glasgow where the first incident call came in. These were the guys who jumped onto their appliances with no real idea what was going to confront them when they arrived. They were magnificent as were all the uniformed services but again, I was struck by their reiteration of how amazing the ordinary people of Glasgow were that night. During the Statement in Parliament yesterday afternoon, the first Minister said that people weren't defined by tragedy, but they were defined by how they responded to tragedy.

Flying colours all round for the people of Glasgow and the emergency services.
