Gawthorpe Hall, Padiham

Gawthorpe Hall is a superb Jacobean historic house, nestled in the shadow of Pendle Hill, east Lancashire. Built between 1600 - 1605 for the Shuttleworth Family it houses a wonderful collection of intricate lace, embroidery and weaves from all over the world; the Gawthorpe Textile Collection, amassed Rachel Kay Shuttleworth.
Unfortunately the Hall is closed during the winter months so we couldn't go inside to see this wonderful collection.
No matter, the grounds were worthy of a walk around, and the woodland was full of squirrels, which made one dog happy :-)
