Mount Lofty Summit Sunset

Mt. Lofty summit is the favourite place where most tourists come for the best lookout point over the city of Adelaide towards the gulf. We have never shot the sunset from this location, so it was an exciting first time tonight.

Had to fight for a position to get my shot, there were so many tripods set up along the rim of the summit landing viewing area.

Located in the Adelaide Hills and just 20 minutes drive from the city, Mount Lofty Summit is a "must see" destination for any visitor to South Australia. Each year more than 350,000 people visit the peak which rises 710 metres above sea level.

The summit landing provides breathtaking panoramic views across Adelaide's city skyline to the coast, with visibility extending as far as Kangaroo Island on clear days.

This location is right next door to Cleland Wildlife Park, Heysen Trail and the waterfalls of Waterfall Gully. We plan to go back there again to the summit with our tripods to both enjoy the views and try some different camera settings at sunset, then enjoy dinner at the Summit Restaurant and Cafe which is only metres away from the lookout.

Brighter orange.

Paladian went for a different aspect at the summit, seen here. My blip is also an entry into Lenna's Challenge for Sundayskies.
