Faery Folk

The monthly west Cork blipmeet and myself, Himself , TJ and Bat met up at CarolineL's house for some delicious soup and then headed out into the mizzle for a walk in Rineen woods. This walk took us through twisted beech and hornbeam, down gnarly root tangled paths, with wonderful views out to a large inlet of limpid bluey green water. Even better, the fairies had been there too. In 2010 mysterious little houses started appearing at the foot of tree. No one know who built them and since then they have become famous in their own right - children adding their own houses, and little offerings hung in the trees. They are starting to look very shrine like. They faeries are applying for planning permission. A notice is pinned to a tree next to the home of Pod, the 'elder and wisest of all the faeries . It seeks “the retention of a number of residencies which we did build ourselves without planning permission and permission to construct a health and fitness centre, café, and visitor centre”.
