The Oak, The Acorn and The Grey Squirrel

The mighty oak, the foremost amongst venerated trees, starts off life as a tiny acorn before taking root and growing relatively slowly to a height of up to 40 metres and living to an average age of 500 years or for some individuals even 1,000 years old. Of course not all acorns fulfil their potential; some simply end up as squirrel pooh.
