A Late Night Trip to the Cobbler

It's been ages (Ok, a month or so) since my friend Debra and I have had a chance to hang and relax. Tonight, we both had some time for a get-together before the onset of the Holiday Frenzy. We decided it would be fun this evening to go have new soles put on our shoes . . . .

Not.

The three of us (me, Debra, Richard) enjoyed a warm and tasty Happy Hour at The Temple Bar, catching up with what everybody's kids are up to, and other assorted tidbits. Afterwards, we crossed the street and headed for the Pickford Theatre where we had the pleasure of watching Judi Dench in Philomena, a film based on the book The Lost Child of Philomena Lee, by Irish journalist Martin Sixsmith. A very poignant and true story about a young woman in early 1950's Ireland who has a child out of wedlock, and the consequences inflicted on her and her son by the Catholic Church. Two thumbs up!
