Fleet

Santa went a bit mad and splashed out on a fleet of motorised scooters. The Elves did well - they're a big hit with the children - who are evidently on Santa's "Good" list!

Today is Christmas in my house, with a little more sleep this morning than the other side of the family got yesterday.

And so to packing a week's eating into a day. The children decided on an "orange" theme after I did orangey things a few weeks ago. So, it's carrot & orange soup, followed by a great big ham cooked with orange and honey, followed by orange mousse with fruit sorbets. The kitchen smells pretty good right now :)

A lovely day for us all. The big hit presents apart from the wallet-melting scooters and predictable electronics are the oldies: cardboard trees that grow coloured crystals (I found a great discussion of these £notmuch kits here), a shooting game to play in the bath, bags of fabulously revolting gellibaff, and big boxes of retro sweets. Must squeeze in a game of triominos after dinner...
