Up on Alex Knob

Hiking in NZ proved at least today quite different to the Swiss hikes we are used to. Hiking up Alex Knob was a lot like a long bush walk, but in the end we got all the views we wanted!
We were early enough, half an hour later everything vanished in the clouds and we realised on the way down why the rain forest is doing so nicely there (enough rain to have the glaciers in this area move an average of 6 metres a day!).

Happy for a night of rest in Haast.
