A good start

It's been a beautiful first day of 2014. Gentler weather, milder temperatures, not much rain.

We went to the beach armed with my new seaweed book to try to start learning to identify those that are good to eat.
Even there the sea was dramatic and there was water everywhere. The little stream which crosses the beach had become a torrent and this waterfall appeared where there was no waterfall before.

We found some seaweed we thought we could identify properly and brought them home to try. (very tasty)

Then I spent the afternoon making a start in the polytunnel, getting beds cleared and covered, pulling out buckets of chickweed for the chickens.

And I'm feeling very much better.
