"Entering The Lock" ...

...On this dull and grey but warm day the old P.S. MELBOURNE today slides through the water of the Murray River, the gates already open for her where she'll stay for about 20 minutes, and then out again, when the water levels are correct for her to move out again through the gates on the other side, sometimes with another vessel in there with her..

...And then, she'll blow her whistle and start moving along a little way, past the Old Homestead (and us-sometimes watching from the banks) and down to the Sandbar where yesterday's pic (painting) was taken, and travel along a little, then return..in all around over a 2hr trip..

...Some day - I'll show you another old river boat, it's not right here, but interstate, not that far away..but it doesn't move much these days...

...I hope your Entry into this New Year of 2014 has been with happiness, without incident, or sadness, and for those who have been so ill - soon to be well..

...We were told at first light - one of our good friends had Entered into a new Gateway, in the dawn of the morning, with Parkinsons, so sad for his family and for us..- he was only our age..he hadn't been sick all that long really..
