Shimmering Branches

The day was every bit as cold as this looks--high of 12° F (-11° C). The forecast is for a low of -12° F tonight (-24° C).

We had less than 3 inches of snow last night (7 cm). I hadn't noticed ice on any trees (it was very light, dry snow), until I noticed these trees just before 3 pm this afternoon; the shot is from our front porch.
