ivy-clad

This is the inside of a roofless ruined church in the Aughadown burial grounds. It is perched on the edge of the Ilen estuary and is the most quiet and peaceful place. I'll go back for a blip of its setting on a day when light and conditions are better.
Apparently the church fell into disuse around 1860. Since then the burial ground has been used by Catholics and Protestants. Something, so I learned, that is called by older local people ' pre-Patrick'. It's clearly still in use and well cared for.
I had a walk along the estuary in the couple of hours this afternoon when it wasn't pouring or blowing a gale.
There is another storm coming in tonight apparently. Stay safe everyone.
