Red Kite Success

So, you're walking along with a couple of shopping bags, picking up a few bit and pieces in Leeds etc, and you look up and there it is, a glorious Red Kite. As a birder, I thought where's my bins, then where's my camera - normally when I'm watching birds its the 40D with 100- 400, neither all I have is a compact. Still it is a Red Kite and it is only a few miles from the city centre of Leeds.

Why success in the title, well despite persecution from so called country conservationists (a dichotomy if ever there was one) the kite is doing well here in the North.
