Full glory

The hyacinth gift I blipped on the 4th is, I reckon, at its peak today. It looked so luscious I couldn't resist homing in on one floral stem in all its pink perfection. I've included a new bud waiting in the wings as well.

Technically, I applied Picasa's vignette filter. You can see the effect from a whole palette of colours in real time as you move the cursor over them. Such brightness is a fillip in these short, dark days of January. I feel happy to have spent some time creating this image. Now I have it to look back on long after the flowers are over - and also remember the kind thoughts and person who gave it to me!
