The Edge of the Wold

Taking a breather

If it wasn't for Gus, I would be blipless on these grey, wet, windy days. I know he has his followers in blip land, but I do feel obliged to apologise for yet another blip of him (4 out of 7 so far this year). Here he is looking much happier than in yesterday's, taking a breather in between bouts of Rowan rounding.

We were lucky with the weather, it stopped raining while we walked over the Knott, Sue was chancing it as she didn't have her waterproof leggings. The wind was hurtling over the hill from the west, it was bracing on the way out, and wind assisted on the way back. The two collies ran until they were exhausted, Rowan chasing the ball and Gus herding him back. But after a while Gus started competing with Rowan for the ball, and they seemed to both enjoy that.

The morning and lunchtime walks are piling on the distance in the 1000 mile challenge. After a week I have now covered 36.5 miles, so I am ahead of schedule.

ps Picking up Frieda's comment below, Gus will have done at least three times the distance I have, mind you after his romp over the Helm today, he is just a little tired tonight.
