Goosander, Whiteknights

I went out to try my new camera at Whiteknights when I saw a different looking duck. After a few seconds, I realised it was a goosander: other had already spotted it, and I was told even though they can be seen on other lakes in Berkshire, this is the only the second time ever they have been recorded at Whiteknights. A female was also there, but my picture of her was not so sharp. So an unexpectedly successful first outing!
