Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

By NannaK

It's raining, it's pouring...

Busy day. Tai chi class, grocery shop, pick up the grandsons from school today and visit the Burke museum where there is an interesting exhibit about the Elwha Dam being dismantled on the Olympic Peninsula, a huge restoration project which will allow the Salmon to come back up the river. And then, the beginning of a lecture series at the UW , part of a Future of Ice Initiative involving many different departments. Tonight we heard James Balog, the person who photographed the glaciers for the hauntingly beautiful movie “Chasing Ice.” The fusion of science and art.

2 subjects that could fill books. (or future blips...)

Of course we had a stop in the cafe at the Burke as well. The photo is Oskar standing outside in an absolute downpour. He had been telling me that all Seattle kids could cut the hoods off their sweatshirts because they like to be in the rain and don’t need hoods. He was wet. I did like the tree and the reflections in this 4:20 PM shot.
