Ismaili Centre

Sharper in large ("L").

Architecture, symmetry, bleach bypass...
"Yada yada".

I took this on my way in to the museum this morning; it feels strange not blipping the NHM, but hey ho, there'll be other opportunities!
This is the Ismaili Centre on Exhibition Road. It is a rather unusual building featuring very modern architecture with both western and Islamic influences; it has a small charbagh garden (a traditional garden divided into four parts) on its roof which is a rather wonderful idea, although I've never made it up there to have a look. The architects had a challenging brief in building this opposite the NHM and V&A, but I think that they pulled it off well, designing something characterful and true to both its surroundings and its cultural context.

p.s. "Prehistoric" creature last year! --------------------------------------------->
