Whilst cardigans appear to have use to help child's retain their heats they do seem to be suffering from a common poor design which frequently causes them to bunch up underneath the chin, where their fibres can be harvested in order to generate a potentially-pukey-sounding cough as the affected child attempts to expel the hairball thus created. Although the cardiganing phase is fleeting I might see if a granny is willing to test a version with a wider neck and a pair of flaps which button together under the nappy area, preventing the whole thing riding up to expose the kidneys and belly to what passes for cold.
