Friday 15 June 2007: Boy with a hoe
Harisen sent some great pics today, but this is not the best one.
I've posted it because of it's significance to me: in Malawi, small boys don't do any work.
Even though he's verrry small I feel it's a move in the right direction. The fact that he is the son of the village headman is even better.
(Small girls work very hard all the time, while the boys play)
Wells for Zoe had the little hoe made for planting, but now it has found another use.
We are teaching all the children how to grow food, because in 5 or 6 years, little ones llike him, may be the head of a household.
Its a cruel world for some!!!
