180 years old and 144 years of friendship!

My Mum, on the left, met Pam, on the right in 1941, when Pam went to work on my grandparents' farm as a Land Girl during the 2nd World War. They were both 18 yrs old.

The have kept in touch over the years but hadn't seen each other for two years, until today.

I think you can see the joy this unplanned meeting, on a freezing day at the races, meant to them both.

They both celebrated their 90th birthdays last year, but didn't manage to meet then due to the distance that divides them.

It was a delight to watch them as they reminisced.
