Reflections of Dusk

Living on the east coast of Kintyre there are very limited opportunities to capture the sunset. The exception can be immediately after heavy rain has passed and the sky is clearing from the west. This has the effect of the sinking sun lighting up the clouds in the east, without any of the brightness from the sun.

These were the conditions this afternoon when I decided to get out for a walk after being stuck in the house all day. It was also an opportunity to try out a couple of Christmas presents from our family. The tripod was used for all shots as I wanted maximum exposure times to blur the motion of the sea. Once the shots were taken I tidied them up a bit in Lightroom and got a chance to use the graduated filter. Still very much at the learning stage, but I quite liked the ability to adjust the exposure of the foreground, which was quite dark.
