A favourite spot

Rushgarry on Berneray is somewhere we have been coming to for a long time - perhaps you can see why fr0m the photo.. There is a beautiful thatched hostel at one of the beach where we stayed many times and the beach is always full of birds with few people - a good combination.
The storms of the winter have reshaped areas of this beach - I don't think the spit you can see above was there before. With a lot of washed up kelp, it was full of waders today including Purple Sandpiper, Bar-tailed Godwit, Ringed Plover, Dunlin and Sanderling.
Walking elsewhere on the island we came upon three groups of Snow Bunting - always a treat - and some Otter footprints. One day we'll actually see one and rest assured it will be my blip photo for that day!
Other images from today are on my flickr photostream.
