What did I see today...?

Double Christmas Radio Bonanza

And what a start to the holidays it was, not one but two shows to do on the radio with a pre-record of a Christmas show (in which I was quite mean to the Hobbit) and then the usual live show covering our top films of the year and a glorious, slightly-rushed, run through the top ten as chosen by all the reviwers and some folks from the Cambridge Arts Picturehouse as well.

You can listen to the shows as podcasts:
- 2013's Top 10 Show
- Christmas Show

And (spoilers ahead), I've posted the Top Ten, plus my own and the favourite categories we also considered doing, further down the page...

Our final Top Ten were:
10 - Byzantium
9 - Mud
8 - Zero Dark Thirty
7 - The Selfish Giant
6 - Philomena
5 - Blue Is The Warmest Colour
4 - Iron Man 3
3 - Before Midnight
2 - Gravity
1 - Django Unchained

My Top Ten were (and note they're not in any order):
Zero Dark Thirty
Warm Bodies
Robot & Frank
Welcome to the Punch
Byzantium
Much Ado About Nothing
Pacific Rim
The World's End
Rush
Gravity

And my 'Oscar' went to:
Favourite Actor - Chris Hemsworth (for combined efforts in Thor: The Dark World and Rush)
Favourite Actress - Amy Acker (Much Ado About Nothing)
Favourite Film - Rush
Favourite Score - TIE - Steven Price for Gravity and Hans Zimmer for The Lone Ranger
Favourite OST - TIE again - The World's End vs Django Unchained
Favourite Animation - Frozen
Favourite Documentary - Stories We Tell
Favourite Director - TIE - Alfonso Cuarón for Grabity and Joss Whedon for Much Ado - basically for churning out two excellent films with the height of CGI wonder and a backyard.
