Thwarted

Despite it being gale force winds and driving rain Campbell and I set off this morning to go swimming in Kirkwall. Got as far as the other side of Burray, saw the waves crashing over N02 barrier (even though it was around low tide) and decided that yes we probably could get over without mishap but the return journey could be a bit dodgy and the pleasure of a swim wasn't really worth getting stuck on the Mainland for the rest of the day. So home we turned.

Instead I decided to go do some tai chi practice in the shed and was slightly taken aback to open the door to find it was raining inside the shed. Water was being forced through the gaps around one of skylights and running along the beams before dripping nicely over everything on the south side of the shed. Resulting in the big puddle gradually creeping over the floor.

Instead I spent the day in the kitchen combing tai chi with making lasagne and focaccia. Tai chi was slightly curtailed with the lack of space and I discovered that a kitchen is not a good place to wield a sabre.
