The glasses DID have Cask Strength whisky in them

Tonight I went to a fantastic venue in Glasgow University Union with my brother, for a whisky tasting session.

Immediately on walking into the library, the smell of 150 large glasses of 60% cask strength whisky laid out on the tables hit us.

The first thing they told us all was that the room of strangers would be out of their seats and chatting away to each other by the end.

After 4 of my 6 glasses, it had already started with people walking around taking photos of others, and introducing themselves.

After 6 glasses we headed rather unsteadily on mass to a Ceilidh in the next door room, to in join the Burns Night dancing

In nearly 20 years since I left the family home in Christchurch, there has only been a handful of nights that I have had like that with my youngest brother.

We chatted away for hours over whisky and beer, reminiscing on how we have got to the happy places we are at, with wonderful wives and amazing children, and looking forward to what might lie ahead in the next 20 years.

Then both woke up the next morning with an appropriate sized hangover... and thankfully understanding wives.
