Up Helly A

The problem with Up Helly A is knowing where to stand. This year I went for the light-up for the first time in years. Very smokey and now smell of paraffin but a good view was had of the start of the procession.

Over 800 torch bearers this year.

The morning weather was dreadful heavy rain and high winds. Fortunately the rain was off for the procession but the winds were causing sparks to fly.
