Calm After The Storm (and before the next one!)

A rare bright day with only stiff breezes instead of gale force winds and hail. The weather people say this is the only 'weather window' before more destructive wild weather sweeps in once again.

So, I gave myself the morning off and strolled into town, passing a couple of working crews removing fallen trees, branches and debris. These, though, were the biggest victim of the storms I saw today. These once-noble old trees withstood generations of storms but are, sadly, no longer. It seems they were so damaged that it was thought safest to remove them. I've no idea how old they were but St Giles Church and these grounds date back to around 1120.

Battening down ready for the next onslaught!
