Getting the sparkle back

St Cuthbert's, Colinton Parish Church

We stayed closer to home this week for our Sunday walk, having got pelted with hail last week. This is the church in Colinton Village, which lies on the first, or last, part of the Water of Leith Walkway, depending on how you look at it. The Walkway runs from Balerno (to the west of Edinburgh) to Leith, and I think I would regard this as the first part - it seems more natural to head downstream. It was a beautiful day, and we were well sheltered on the walk, so I think I might be ready to tackle some more weather next week if needs be.

At the bottom right corner of the picture you can see a statue of a boy with a dog - this is Robert Louis Stevenson, whose grandfather lived in Colinton.
