Loopy

Up at 5 this morning, picked up a colleague at 6, and then by 7 we were on a plane.

"On the plane" being the operative words .. we sat on the tarmac for 90 minutes … fog in Wellington.

Then finally at 8.30, there were thoughts it was clearing, so off we took. Woo hoo!

Only to find out as we arrived overhead the fog closed back in. Circled for an hour in “the racetrack” over Kaikoura, burning fuel, and then sadly around 10 it was time to head back, arriving back in Christchurch exactly 2 hours later,..

Oh well, it was actually a nice flight, and free as they refunded our airfares. Have to say, very impressed by Jetstar. Air NZ on the other hand, wouldn’t even credit the return flight …

And then a long day at work .. getting up at 5 does that!
