Flying the nest

Some will stand in line,
Talking of when they will fly,
Others soar skywards.

Back-blipped.

A trip up to Leicester to visit De Montfort Uni, which is where my son Greg is thinking of going in the Autumn.

A bit of an expensive journey due to an altercation between the car's tyre and a large pothole on the way up .... meaning a trip to Kwik Fit for a new tyre, before heading home.

Apart from that a successful and interesting trip. We found out more about the course (BA Music, Technology and Performance) and had a good look round the campus and the accommodation.... it looks like he will go there ... so there will be more trips ....

Whenever we do long car journeys we always listen to CDs in the car (I know, how quaint!) - it's an opportunity to actually listen to a whole album beginning to end, instead of just a shuffle of tracks. As the car is a bit old, it has one of the multi CD changer things in the back. Mark had loaded up the thing with some CD's so we let it play through. Suddenly it started playing tracks we didn't recognise and we discovered that a CD must have been left in the changer by the previous owners.... it was a compilation of tracks ... so we were treated to 40 minutes or so of not knowing what the next track would be .... quite fun!! (but not as much fun as Greg and I having mock sword and light sabre battles in Cafe Nero .... I'm going to miss him .....)
