DDW's February 2014 Alphabet Challenge - V is for Vivid Visuals and ohh for the first time I've been Victorious at taking a photo of the Aurora!

My camera really wasn't quite up to it, but you get the idea! :) Quite a show from my front garden today. Made me speechless. Some of the photos from real Orkney photographers have taken my breath away today and over the last few days. Hoping for a lot more of this in the next week. I suggest going LARGE here.

Of course this is with the Panorama plugin for Gimp, I think it was around 25" at F5.6 and ISO 400.. anything higher than that just turned the shots super-grainy.
