Bridgend Potato Day

Ian and I cycled east, along the Braid Burn to Bridgend for Potato Day. Actually, we didn't need to cycle: we were pushed along by the strongly westerly winds. I bought four types of potatoes: Colleen, Bambino, Highland Red Burgundy and Sarpo Mira. It's nice to be able to buy in small quantities and try out lots of varieties. These are two earlies and two main crop varieties.

There was a lovely community atmosphere at the event, with hot soup, bread, tea and cake.

Cycling home against the heavy rain and strong winds was another story altogether;o)
