Business and pleasure

Today I had to drive down to London albeit with a brief diversion into south Manchester for a meeting with a client.

Never one to miss an opportunity to see the Minx, I arranged to meet her for a coffee at Charnock Richard services where there is a morally unacceptable but orally rather desirable Starbucks.

As I've said before - somewhere in this scrapbook of blog posts - I like these old-fashioned service stations that are right on the motorway. The newfangled set-ups like to take you away from your journey into a faux tranquility which doesn't appeal to me. I like to sit with my coffee and watch the traffic whizz by. Even if, as the Minx pointed out, the windows could do with a clean.
