Mallard

Time for a confession. RCB's got a new project - a different bird species per day in 2014. Unlike his 2011 project where any old plumage was treated as a different bird (male/ female / juvenile ages) this time it's just simply the species. So it's going to fail, there's no way he's going to get 365 species, but the interesting question is when will the first failure be - I'd be disappointed if he can't get to 100 not out, but also unlike 2011 where there was a bit rewriting of history when it fitted better to blip a different bird historically he'd alter his blip. That won't be happening this time. Today was a quiet day we had a wander round Perth. We came home with a Mallard and a Herring Gull. RCB chose to blip the Herring Gull. If he deems in the future it'd have been better to blip the Mallard today - tough, he chose Herring Gull and that's that.

Now there's a Franklin's Gull on Canna. We've never seen a Franklin's Gull, we've never been to Canna. NTS do short term lets. A plan is forming.
