On Board Loch Nevis

Not a lot of folk on the ferry, even less once we'd stopped at Rum. I reckon four of us carried on to Canna, We were met at the pier by Winnie who transported our bags to our cottage Lag Nam Boitean while we took the option to walk there round the bay. Really nice accommodation, with a fire already burning courtesy of Winnie.

We'd confessed to a couple of people including Winnie that part of the reason for the visit was to see a Gull. We'd been assured, no problem, you'll see Frankie okay. Easy said, but until it's been ticked......

So once we'd settled in it was out to Frankie's reported haunts, get it ticked early and let us enjoy the rest of our time on Canna. Mrs L was first to see him, in the middle of the bay, almost equidistant from any land, not exactly ideal for a photograph and he was asleep with his head under his wing. Hey ho, tick & click.

Eventually he woke up, had a stretch and we took some passable photos. We continued our wander round the bay and then noticed he was no longer there. I spotted him next by a fence, but he took flight back to the centre of the bay. En-route though the new 70D proved it's rather useful at capturing flight shots. Head over to RCB for the best of them. If the weather lets us out we're now free to get out and explore the island.
