Northern Lights

Youngest son came into our bed in the middle of the night as he'd had a bad dream. He decided the room was too dark and opened the curtains a little. "Ooh, look at the red sky", he commented. I grunted and told him to go to sleep, thinking he was imagining it.

This morning, our local news said the Northern Lights could be seen over the Peak District!! Oops...

I've been looking out tonight to see if there's any activity, but haven't seen anything so far. This massive tree is at the back of our house. It must be at least 30 feet tall. It's always a bit of a concern in the high winds! The horizontal line on the right of the photo is the ridge at the back of our house which is approx 900 feet. At the weekend I like to lie in bed and watch out for little dots of people running along the ridge, while I'm nice and cosy under the duvet :-))
