Further Adventures In Prog

Off to the compact and bijeau Renfrew Ferry, Glasgow to see a giant of a man, Steve Hackett ex of Genesis. Irrespective of whether you like this kind of music Hackett is easily one of the best guitar players I have ever seen live. As befits these occasions the crowd was heavy with middle aged men with a paunch stretching those early eighties Genesis t-shirts; my female companions have rarely been to a gig where the toilets were so accesible....

So all in all an excellent night topped off by the quite extraordinary guitar playing of Hackett and the sublime bass player one Nick Beggs. Forty something eighties ex-teeny boppers will remember Mr. Beggs as one of the founder members of Kajagoogoo. A middle aged progger grumbled about a man with pigtails and a leather kilt playing with Hackett, I guess he forgot Gabriels red cocktail frock.

So here we have one fifth of Genesis and one quarter of Kajagoogoo doing Los Endos, we live in interesting times.....

Next up.... Alice, next Wednesday. I love gigs.
