Monday 23 November 2009: Swings and roundabouts
The registrar made it to her bedside at about 11pm, surprised that nobody had suggested an antacid to see if that would relieve the pain. It did and this morning's scan showed a stone-free gall bladder, so home she came and we all breathed a sigh of relief.
On one hand it's frustrating it took 12 hours to see someone with the experience and confidence to decide she was fine, while on the other it's amazing she got to see such a highly qualified person so quickly.
On one hand she's missed her first day of travel for nothing, while on the other we know she's setting off fit and healthy.
