green.. The light was much better yesterday at this time when the air was very clear. (excuses, excuses)

Spent yesterday afternoon with friends at a St Paddy's day party; music, songs and stories including one by an Apache descendant of Mickey Free.

Another in the party told the story of changing the spelling of his name from Hanrehan to Hanrahan ...

And I thought it was only east Europeans that had their names changed to more manageable Anglo spelling when arriving at Ellis Island . . . one of the company said his name came about by arrivals from the British Isles being given the last name Brit ... ?

Guinness and Smithwick's was available and potent green peppermint drinks (Schnaps?). We had soda bread and the traditional American corned-beef and cabbage (colcannon).
