Web of Colour

A busy agenda for today.
First stop was the National Portrait Gallery to see the exhibition for the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize 2013.Very interesting but don't know if I agreed with the results.
We also visited the permanent exhibition and I noticed this fabulous new edition to the exhibition a painting of a famous Hibs player Lawrie Reilly, and that's coming from a Motherwell supporter :-)
From here we went to the Fruitmarket Gallery to view an exhibition by Tania Kovats called Oceans.
Quite an intriguing exhibition.
From here we then walked to the National Museum of Scotland as I always love to see the Beginnings and Early Peoples exhibit and view my favourite exhibit the Ballachulish figure, which I find so enigmatic.
From there it was a short walk to the Dovecot studios for afternoon tea. This is where my shot was taken, this web decorates the stairs up to the viewing gallery where you can view the weaver's at work.
We just had time to visit the Concrete Wardrobe, a shop run by a chap we met last year on our course at Ullapool.
He is a weaver and his shop specialises in work done by Scottish craftspeople and also displays some of his own work.
We finished off the day by another visit to the cinema to see Monuments Men.
