Tony Hawk!

The man himself is pictured here... upside down... with his back to me. Awesome!

Community day at the Melbourne GP is a nice treat for those who have no real interest in formula one and some interest in V8 supercars. When the F1 circus comes to town, there is always a lot more than just 2 hours of cars going round in circles and this gives everyone else the chance to see everything except for the main event.

We had a great day out today, moods lifted somewhat by the email from a travel company with our ticket vouchers attached. I got a chance to say goodbye to Hannah, who I worked with over the winter, as she is returning to the UK. I also got the chance to meet some friends of William, so that was nice.

The Tony Hawk and Friends Vert Jam was good, showcasing the top make and female skateboarders in the world along with some local talent and fantastic young talent. There were also appearances from the RAAF Roulettes, Australias verion of the Red Arrows, and lots of motorcycle stuff from stunts to trials.

On the way home, we discovered the delights of the eateries in the casino food hall then we printed the ticket vouchers ready for first practice on Friday morning. Tie for a good nights sleep... if only that was possible in a city centre youth hostel.
