Tuesday 1 December 2009: Strange germination

Z found this extraordinary phenomenon during lunch today. The seeds of the Fernleaf Yarrow are germinating before they have even left the mother plant. Fascinating!

BIG version is worth checking out.

We guess it's the mild and wet late autumn/early winter that caused them to germinate now. The frost will probably kill them all at some stage during the winter that WILL come - but if they continue growing we'll keep you posted. :-)
